Effective Online Presentations Training

In Book of Lists ranking from 1977 titled “14 Greatest Human Fears,” the fear of public speaking was mentioned by 41% of the respondents, thus taking the top spot in the ranking (the respondent group consisted of 3000 individuals). In the same ranking, the fear of death only ranked 6th place (death was mentioned by every 5th respondent). This indicates that the fear of public speaking was more prevalent among people towards the end of the 20th century than the fear of death. In the 21st century, this fear has become even more pronounced. Regardless of one’s position or company’s specifics, we are increasingly required to conduct presentations not only in front of colleagues but also before unfamiliar audiences.

Today’s situation is unique. The standard fear of public speaking is intensified by the exceptional variability of times and the necessity to navigate the world of online meetings and presentations. This poses a significant challenge.

By participating in this training, you will acquire a range of soft skills that will help you overcome the fear of online presentations. This proprietary training program provides a coherent system that guides participants through: creating a positive impression on the presentation audience, techniques for capturing the listener’s attention at the beginning of a presentation, proper preparation for presenting to a specific target group, applying positive body language and engaging intonation during online presentations, avoiding common mistakes, interactive techniques with the audience, ways to handle difficult situations and audience behaviors, culminating in a presentation experience combined with feedback sessions.

In the safe atmosphere of the virtual training room, you will gain all the necessary competencies to succeed in presenting before even the most demanding audiences.

The Effective Online Presentations training is led by Grzegorz Gustaw – a psychologist, experienced business trainer, and speaker. He has delivered speeches to audiences of hundreds, appeared as an expert providing commentary on TVN, RMF FM, and live broadcasts on Polskie Radio. He has conducted thousands of hours of workshops in training rooms and hundreds of hours of online courses on Zoom, MS Teams, and webinar platforms such as BigBlueButton and LiveWebinar.

This online training program is designed for maximum effectiveness. On the first day of training, participants give an initial presentation. It is recorded and analyzed by the trainer. Before the second day of training, each participant engages in individual 60-minute consultations with the trainer.

First Day Training Program

In this module, each participant will conduct an initial, pre-prepared presentation. The presentations will be recorded for joint analysis by the presenter with the trainer during individual consultations.

In this module, participants will learn to identify the needs of their presentation audience, determine the goals of their presentation, and finally plan the structure of the presentation and develop effective slides. Throughout this module, each participant will step-by-step through the process of identifying the needs of their actual presentation audience, selecting relevant topics, and designing great slides.

  • Investigating the audience’s presentation needs;
  • preparing for the presentation;
  • prevention and therapy for presentation anxiety in demanding audiences;
  • caring for the presentation environment and dress code;
  • prevention of difficult situations in the context of online presentations;
  • proper setup of presentation equipment (camera, microphone, headphones);
  • the psychology of first impressions;
  • great “content” for online presentations, or the magic of PowerPoint™ presentations – how to move away from boring slideshows and capture the audience’s attention;
  • the art of presenting data;
  • technical aspects – optimizing presentation files for online public speaking engagements.

Individual Consultations Program

  • Detailed analysis of the presentations from the first day (video recordings and feedback analysis, trainer guidance);
  • presentation of improved versions of the presentations, feedback, and planning for further refinements of the final version of the presentation, which will be delivered on the second day of training.

Second Day Training Program

During this module, participants will enhance their skills in delivering presentations and handling challenging situations that may arise during them.

  • A few words about the self-fulfilling prophecy;
  • stress management in the context of presentations;
  • the art of voice modulation;
  • diction training;
  • body language in online presentations;
  • techniques to engage participants in online presentations;
  • dealing with challenging situations during presentations (answering so-called difficult questions, reacting to problematic participant behaviors, addressing technical issues).

In this module, each participant will deliver an enhanced presentation.

  • redesigned participant presentations;
  • parameterized progress measurement, which will be provided to participants upon completion of the training.

Training course location and duration:

10 hours of educational training and 1 hour of individual consultations for each participant (we recommend conducting the training online in a format of 1 x 5h training + 1h individual consultations for each participant + 1 x 5h training). We provide our Clients with access to the Zoom Pro or LiveWebinar Pro platform for the duration of the training. We can also conduct the training on a platform provided by the Client, which has similar functionalities.

The recommended amount of participants

The recommended number of participants is 2 – 16 people. For larger groups, program modifications or extension of the training duration may be necessary to fully implement the program.
